Partial model to compute power draw and heat dissipation of fans and pumps

Extends from Modelica.Blocks.Icons.Block.

Information

Block that implements the functions to compute the heat dissipation of fans and pumps. It is used by the model IDEAS.Fluid.Movers.BaseClasses.PartialFlowMachine.

Parameters

TypeNameDefaultDescription
BooleanhomotopyInitializationtrue= true, use homotopy method
BooleanmotorCooledByFluidFlag, true if the motor is cooled by the fluid stream
Modelica.Units.SI.VolumeFlowRatedelta_V_flowFactor used for setting heat input into medium to zero at very small flows

Components

TypeNameDefaultDescription
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInputV_flowVolume flow rate
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInputWFloFlow work
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInputWHydHydraulic work (converted to flow work and heat)
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealInputPEleElectrical power consumed
Modelica.Blocks.Interfaces.RealOutputQ_flowHeat input from fan or pump to medium

Revisions

  • March 8, 2022, by Hongxiang Fu:
This model no longer computes WHyd. It now takes WHyd instead of etaHyd as an input from IDEAS.Fluid.Movers.BaseClasses.FlowMachineInterface.
    This is for #2668.
  • April 14, 2020, by Michael Wetter:
    Changed homotopyInitialization to a constant.
    This is for IBPSA, #1341.
  • December 2, 2016, by Michael Wetter:
Removed min attribute as otherwise numerical noise can cause the assertion on the limit to fail.
    This is for #606.
  • March 15, 2016, by Michael Wetter:
Replaced spliceFunction with regStep. This is for issue 300.
  • February 19, 2016, by Michael Wetter:
First implementation during refactoring of mover models to make implementation clearer. This is for #417.
